Drops, equipment for sale, and some monster layout is all random though. If you save your character files upon creation, the map is constant, as are spawn points of some monsters. For instance, his section of the chaos sanctuary and Diablo is about 17 minutes, while mine is 5.ĭiablo 2 is a weird game to speedrun. I saw why the assassin would have a lot of advantages during a speedrun, but when I saw his fights, especially against act bosses, I become convinced that the sorceress had more potential. I thought 'it has to be a sorceress', and then saw it was an assassin.

I got the idea for this speedrun when a friend said I should download a sub 2 hour speedrun of LOD. Thanks to everyone on the thread, especially Coriolanus for his tireless number crunching, Dragonwarrior, Stuporman, Gorash, and everyone else who gave their words of advice. Available in low, normal and high quality.įirstly, a big thanks to Marshmallow, for doing his D2LOD speedrun, which got me into wanting to do it myself.

It is impossible to cheat online using the blizzard-provided modding methods. The server uses its own files and so those mods have no impact in game. D2RMM makes the mod "future proof" meaning that when the game updates, you can reinstall the mod and it will use the updated files.Įven if you were to change/mod the files that can actually have a gameplay impact (i.e., files in the global/excel folder such as character.txt, treasureclassex.txt etc) and tried to use them online, it wouldn't work. D2RMM only puts the files where they need to go, you can do it by hand, it's just easier with D2RMM. We're only changing item name strings in game files that are explicitly allowed to be changed using their API (i.e., all the original files remain intact, our files are added and "patched" over the top by the game and how blizzard set it up to be modified). This isn't a 3rd party program, it's changing the files that blizzard specifically released for modding with documentation on how to modify the files.

People have been using filters since the game was released and haven't been banned. Go to D2R on the Bnet launcher, click gear icon near "Play", click "Game Settings", check "Additional command line arguments"Īdd "-mod D2RMM -txt" to the text box below, and click "Done" Like this
